A Lake County Grassroots Democratic Organization
|
On April 29, 2004, a new political organization was formed in Lake County to give a group of people who had been in the silent minority for many years, a voice in their community.
This group, The Warren Township Democrats, is comprised of concerned members of the community along with precinct committeemen and others who want to affect changes in Lake County, state and federal governments to benefit all the residents of our communities.

Warren Township Democrats is sponsoring a section of highway in Lake County through the
Adopt-A-Highway program. We are responsible for a 1 mile stretch on Stearn School Road from Dilley's
Road to Rt. 41. We began this program in April 2007 and are committed for at least 2 years to perform
semi-annual clean-ups on this highway. Our first clean-up day was early June and a second successful
clean-up was held on Saturday October 6, 2007.
Tentative time for our next clean-up is May 2008.

Meet the Candidates Forum
|
We had a great turnout for our November 29 meeting! By 8PM, it was Standing Room Only (over 50
people) in the audience and we had seen about 3 change overs in the candidates panel, as we had
so many candidates come (14 total). Several candidates came up from Springfield for this event
even though they were called back to a special session by the Governor - Senator Terry Link and
State Representative Kathy Ryg.
Thank you all to the Warren Township Democrats (and other area Township members) who came
to help with this event. Special thanks go to Bill Rowe, Etta Marcus and Adam Moran.
This was a huge event and we even got notice by the Republicans - somewhat unfortunate as they
are complaining in the papers that we had this event at the library. They are saying this was a
political rally excluding them and shouldn't have been in the library. We say it was a meeting of our
club which happens to be Democrats.
I have pictures which I will be posting to this webpage very soon.
THANKS AGAIN to all who helped and attended!
